Haitians in Pittsburgh United (HPU) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Haitian community in Pittsburgh and beyond. Guided by our motto, “Unity is Strength,” we bring together Haitians and Haitian Americans to foster cultural pride, community engagement, and mutual support.
As the Haitian population in Pittsburgh continues to grow, HPU serves as a bridge—helping newcomers navigate language barriers, employment challenges, and integration into the local community. We also extend support to Haitians in need, both in the U.S. and in Haiti.
Our mission is rooted in community—not politics—and focuses on empowerment, education, and cultural celebration through a collaborative leadership structure and active subcommittees.
